I love what I do and have a profound sense of delight when clients discover their strengths and capacities to find new ways of thinking and living.
I have worked as a counsellor since 2013 gaining considerable experience working in a local counselling agency, a hospice and a charity working with clients having a wide variety of issues.
An interest in the older client
Counselling the older person has become of particular interest to me. As an older person myself, having experienced a number of life challenging issues, I found counselling helpful and transformative. Increasing age brings it’s own special concerns, challenges and opportunities. Research has shown that anxiety, depression and other such issues can be overlooked, unrecognised and untreated. My intention is to help alleviate the distressing symptoms of mental, emotional and physical issues arising in later life. It is never too late to seek help.
